COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

Operating the Woodstock Farmers Market in a safe way is our top priority, and we are implementing significant measures to protect the health of our shoppers, our vendors and our community as a whole. These measures include:

  • Limiting the number of shoppers in the market at one time
  • Increasing the space between booths to encourage social distancing
  • Requiring personal protective equipment for staff, volunteers, and vendors
  • Adding more hand sanitizing stations throughout the market including at our token booth for customers to use after transactions
  • Sanitizing high-touch surfaces frequently
  • Having a designated entrance and exit
  • Kindly reminding customers to keep social distance and direct the flow of traffic
  • Making lines at 6’ spacing as needed in order to keep customers at social distance
  • Banning all food sampling
  • Restricting hot food sales to take-out only – no eating at the market
  • Removing all tables and seating
  • Requiring vendors pre-bag produce to eliminate scales and weighing
  • Having vendors to round prices to the nearest dollar to eliminate coin handling
  • Requiring vendors to have hand sanitizer or hand washing station available at checkout
  • Canceling music, kids program, community/sponsor booths, and special events until further notice
  • Requiring sick staff, vendors and customers to stay home and not attend market

Our precautions will be updated as necessary. We will continue to do everything we can to make our market the safest source of fresh, local food possible. We need your help to make that happen. In addition to the policy changes listed above, we’re asking the following of our customers:

Shopper Guidelines

  • Maintain physical distance of at least 6’ between yourself and other shoppers, vendors, and staff
  • Do not touch any products! Vendors will select the items for you
  • Hand-washing and hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout the market – please use them before & after shopping
  • Eating at the market is not permitted- all foods are to-go only
  • Consider online ordering from your favorite vendors to limit the amount of time at the market
  • Send only one member of your household to shop at the market, if possible
  • Come prepared with a list of items to decrease the amount of time spent at the market
  • After completing your purchases, please do not linger in the market space
  • Wear masks while at the market
  • Read signage at market and follow instructions – there will be entrances and exits to booths, and limits to the number of people who can be in a booth at one time
  • Please do not come to the Farmers’ Market if you are sick or may have been exposed to COVID-19

Thank you all for helping us all stay safe and healthy!
